FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: December 2006 ========================================================================= Donald Gene Boltjes, 58, of Windom, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at the Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Born March 10, 1948, in Adrian, he was the son of Herman and Marjorie Solma Boltjes. He married Donna Heikes on March 4, 1972. He later married Tracy Gilbertson on Aug. 22, 1998, at their farm outside of Windom. He graduated from Magnolia High School in 1966. He joined the U.S. Air Force and signed in at Dien Hoa Air Force Base in Vietnam, with his base camp at Bleiku Air Force Base in Vietnam. He received his discharge after four years of service. He then returned to the Adrian area, where he lived for a short time before moving to Windom. He worked for John Hedquist for many years and numerous other farmers in the Windom area, where he also farmed. In May 2000, he began working for Mountain Power Hydraulics in Mountain Lake as a machinist. He was a member of American Lutheran Church, Windom. He was a member of American Legion Post 206 and the VFW. Surviving are his wife; three children, Darcy (Jon) Hoffman; Donald (Tammy) Boltjes, and Kathleen Boltjes, all of Windom; his mother, Adrian; four brothers, Duane (Rita) Boltjes, Herman Boltjes, and David (Sharon) Boltjes, all of Adrian, and Darryl (Marti) Boltjes, Luverne; four sisters, Diane (Loren) Rashke, Ruthton; Delores (Gary) Goomgaarden, Ellsworth; and Debra (Larry) Lenz and Darlene (Terry) Miller, all of Adrian; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today at the Solid Rock Assembly Church, Worthington. The service will be 1:30 p.m. today at the Solid Rock Assembly Church, Worthington, with the Revs. Stephen Norby, Bill Kleyman, and Scott Peterson officiating.
