FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: January 2006 ========================================================================= Shirley Joan Lindstrom was born on August 3, 1935, to Isaac and Elsie Abraham Weidemann on a farm in Redwood County near Belview, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed by Rev. O.C. Harong at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Belview. She graduated from Belview High School in 1953 and earned her LPN Degree at New Ulm Hospital, where she worked until the time of her marriage. She and Roger Lindstrom were married on June 5, 1955, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Belview. They farmed northwest of Westbrook and Shirley worked at the Westbrook Hospital. To this union, five sons were born, Douglas, Daniel, Todd, Thomas and Mark. Shirley passed away at Sunset Cottage, hospice home, in Worthington, Minnesota on November 24, 2005, at the age of 70. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook and was active in the ladies circle. She belonged to the Westbrook Hospital Auxiliary. Shirley was always busy with family, cooking, gardening, and her church. Survivors include her husband, Roger Lindstrom, rural Currie, MN; five sons and their wives: Douglas and Yong, Oakdale, MN; Daniel and Suzanne, Shelby Township, MI; Todd, Hopkins, MN; Thomas and Cindy; Westbrook, MN; and Mark and Heather, Brewster, MN; nine grandchildren: James and Amanda; Steven; Amber, Nathan and Tommy; Allison, Katelyn and Ethan; sister Arlene Smith, Renville, MN; one brother Burton and Orleen Weidemann, Willmar, MN; sister-in-law, Gert Carlson, Andover, MN; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Alvis, LuVern and LeRoy; brother-in-law Robert Smith and a nephew Charles Weidemann. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook, MN on Monday, November 28, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Klavetter officiating. The organist is Delores Winter. The soloist was Maureen Weidemann. The pallbearers were Jim Weidemann, Roy Smith, Darrell Zimmer, Steve Larson, Dean Winter and Arden Sandberg.
