Born Feb. 27, 1952, in Fairmont, he was the son of George and Bonnie Martin Polz. He married Cindy Chipman Jan. 13, 1978, in Sioux Falls, S.D. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1970 and attended Jackson Vocational and Technical College for one year. He lived almost all his life in Jackson. He worked at Glasstite in Dunnell and spent 10 years at Ag-Chem in Jackson, in the shipping department. He also worked for Pure Fishing, Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Northwest Cedar, Windom. Surviving are his wife; four children, Tanner Polz, Tucker Polz, Jackson, and Tim Opheim, all of Jackson, and Trinity Crawmer, Spencer, Iowa; three sisters, Liza Polz, Jackson, Lori Polz, Arizona, and Luann (Tedd) Hybbert, Corona, Calif.; one half-brother, Roger (Elaine) Wachal, Superior, Iowa; and three granddaughters. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Jackson. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Jackson, with the Rev. Eric Hullstrom officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Jackson.
