FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: December 2006 ========================================================================= Arthur Rudolph Stenke, 92, of Windom, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D. Born Nov. 23, 1914, in Kimball Township, Jackson County, he was the son of Martin and Anna Karschnik Stenke. He married Naomi C. Leonard Jan. 5, 1936, in Sioux City, Iowa. She died Dec. 28, 1994. He received his education in the rural schools of Jackson County and later received his GED. After marriage, they lived in Sioux City for a few years. Then they moved and farmed east of Windom for five years. From 1945 to 1989, they farmed near Dundee. In 1989, they moved to Windom. He moved to Remick Ridge Estates, Windom, in June 2001. He became a resident of Lakeview Home, Heron Lake, in November 2005. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Windom, and the Windom Service Club. Surviving are one son, John L. (Connie) Stenke, Dundee; one daughter, Elizabeth (Keith) Nelson, San Carlos, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Windom. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Windom, with the Rev. Arthur Miller officiating.
