Anderson, Peosta, Iowa, was born on June 2, 1961, in Alexandria, Minnesota to Claremont and Nancy (Olson) Anderson. He graduated from Benson Senior High School, Benson, Minnesota in 1980 and North Dakota State University in 1985 with a bachelor of science degree in education. He married Tori Klingle on May 25, 1985, in Benson, Minnesota. He was employed as a welder at Premier Tooling and Manufacturing in Peosta, Iowa. Currently he was a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve serving a second tour of duty in Iraq. He enlisted in 1984 and was commissioned an officer in 1989. Major Stuart M. Anderson was killed on Saturday, January 7, 2006, a result of a helicopter crash in Iraq at the age of 44. His wife and children were the center of his life. His non working hours were dedicated to his family. He is survived by his wife Tori Anderson - Peosta, IA; daughters Keely, 14 and Kirsten, 10 both at home; parents Claremont and Nancy Anderson, Hoffman, Minnesota; two brothers: Darren (Nancy) Anderson, Keller, Texas and Terry (Linda) Anderson, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; one sister, Jay Lee Leaf, Litchfield, Minnesota; Maternal grandmother, LaVone Olson, Barrett, Minnesota; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 3200 Asbury Road, DBQ with Rev. Merlin Schlichting. Burial in Linwood Cemetery. Military rites by the Soldiers of the U.S. Army Reserve 3d. COSCOM. Major Stuart M. Anderson Memorial has been established.
