Thus another early day resident of the city joins the silent majority. The deceased was born in Zanesville, Ohio, November 22, 1851. In 1857 the family removed to Clintonville,(Clinton) Ills., and from there to Blue Earth in 1871, where his father was engaged in the clothing business for some years. In 1879 the deceased was married to Miss Minnie Johnson, the latter passing to her final reward in the year 1895. To this union two sons, Rial T. and Floyd R. were born and survive them. "Oscar", as the deceased was familiarly known among a wide acquaintance in this county, was a man of excellent traits of character and his death is mourned not only by surviving relatives but a large circle of friendships formed during his thirty-six year residence. Besides the sons, he is survived by three brothers - J.R. of Galesburg, Ills., I.O. of Sioux City, S.T. of Fairmont, and two sisters, Mrs. H.A. Snell of Bloomington, Ills., and Mrs. S.S. Rhodes of Indianapolis, Ind. The funeral will be conducted from the M.E. church tomorrow afternoon by Rev. T.A. Jones.
