JULIA FERCH DIED ON THURSDAY Funeral of Mrs. Julia Ferch Was Held Last Sunday Afternoon Thanksgiving Day was sad one for the Gus Ferch family for on this day Mr. Ferch's mother, Mrs, Julia Ferch, who has been ill for the past three years passed away. The deceased was a pioneer citizen of Elmore and at the time of her death was 82 years and 2 days old. Julia Arndt was born in Rogasen, Posen, Germany on November 22, 1842, where she spent her girlhood days. In 1864 she was united in marriage to Julius Ferch to which union six children were born: Charles and Gus Ferch of Elmore, Mrs. W. Zilske, Pilot Grove; Mrs. Henry Lawrence, Farguson, Ia; and Mrs. Fred Kuss, Wolters, Minn. In the year 1895 Mr. and Mrs. Ferch immigrated to America, later settling on a homestead in Rome township, where they resided for a number of years when they moved to Elmore. Mr. Ferch died in 1917. Funeral services were held at the Trinily Lutheran Church, Sunday afternoon, November 28th, Rev. O. J. Kitzmann preaching the funeral sermon.
