Services Held Thursday for David W. Hovland
David W. Hovland, 71, of rural Mora, died at his home Monday July 22.  Funeral 
services were held Thursday, July 25, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora 
with the Rev. Martin J. Olson officiating.
Pallbearers were Hilding L. Nelson, Delmer Ellingson, Matt Knutson, Sig 
Gunderson, Allen Bentz and Alvin Moen.  Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery at 
Mora.  Akkerman Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
David W. Hovland, son of Ener and Mary Hovland, was born Nov. 19, 1896, in 
Frost, Minn. He was baptized as an infant at the Lutheran church in Frost.  He 
attended public school there and grew to manhood at Frost.
He was inducted into the army July 22, 1918, and was honorably discharged from 
the service July 31, 1919.
In 1932 he came to Mora. He was married to Fern Henderson Aug. 30, 1933, and 
they made their home on a farm west of Mora where he lived until his death.
He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran church of Mora.
Mr. Hovland was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.  
He is survived by:  his wife, Fern; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Hanson (Anna) of 
Osceola, Wis., and Mrs. Conrad Schultz (Cora) of Center City; three 
granddaughters and two grandsons; one brother, Eugene Hovland of Mora; four 
sisters, Mrs. Cora Kallestad of Frost, Mrs. Rosella Lee and Mabel Hovland, both 
of Mora, and Mrs. Carl Dorr (Josie) of Effie, several nephews and nieces and 
other relatives.
