Ernest M. Kallestad, 82
Frost—Service for Ernest Kallestad, age 82, of Frost was at 11 a.m. on May 14 at 
the United Lutheran Church in Frost.  Pastor Robert Roettger officiated.  Burial 
was at the United Lutheran Cemetery in Frost.  Mr. Kallestad died Tuesday at the 
United Hospital in Blue Earth.  Patton Funeral Home of Blue Earth was in charge 
of arrangements.
Ernest Martin Kallestad was born April 13, 1917 in Frost the son of Abdiel and 
Cora (Hovland) Kallestad.  He attended rural school and later did farm work.  He 
served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII.  After the service he returned to 
Frost and did road construction work.  He married Wanda (Savick) Hanson February 
3, 1961 in Frost.  He worked at Winnebago Industries in Forest City, Iowa and 
was later street commissioner for the city of Frost.  He retired in 1979.  He 
was a member of the VFW.  
He was survived by his wife, Wanda Kallestad of Blue Earth; three daughters:  
Kay and husband Rod Korn of Walters, Karen Kallestad of Blue Earth, Kelly and 
husband Kevin Blake of Albert Lea; three step daughters:  Carole and husband 
Robert Haugen of Mounds View, Gloria Weber of Blue Earth, Dawn and husband 
Douglas Willner of Fairmont; three step sons:  Gary and wife Carol Hanson of 
Litchfield, Thomas Hanson of Rochester, Mark and wife Sharron Hanson of Mountain 
Lake; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death of his parents, seven brothers, and four sisters.
