Makinster = son Major V. Makinster Obituary of Mrs. Eliza McKinster Wells Advocate, Wells, Minnesota, Tuesday, December 17, 1901 "DEATH'S HARVEST Several People Pass to their Eternal Rest MRS. MAKINSTER "Another old settler has passed away, in the person of Mrs. Dewey Makinster, who died yesterday (Monday) afternoon, about 4 o'clock. She had been troubled with asthma for many years, which at last claimed her as its victim, although she was able to do her household work until within a few days of her death. "Mrs. Makinster, whose maiden name was Eliza F. Pepper, was born in New York state, and was in her seventy-fifth year. When seven years of age she moved with her parents to Pennsylvania and when 18 years of age she moved to Wisconsin where she was married to Mr. Makinster on March 12th, 1848. In 1857 she moved with her husband to Waseca county, Minnesota, and in '62 they came to this county and settled on a farm near Rice Lake, which they still own. About twenty years ago they moved to Wells, where they have since lived. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her loss. The children are: Mr. D. D.Makinster of Sargent county, N.D.; Mr. M.V. Makinster of Clakamas County, Oregon; Mrs. Dana Cady of Minneapolis; Mrs. A.A. Skinner of Rice Lake, this county; and Mrs. H. O. Canfield of Lebanon, Oregon. "Interment will be make in the Rice Lake cemetery. "The funeral services will be held in the Methodist church here on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock."
