Ward, a former resident of this city, died at her home at Forest Mills, near Zumbrota, on Thursday, Oct. 20, after a brief illness, aged 49 years. She was born in Madison county, N.Y., April 17, 1838. In 1860, she was married to Reuben S. Ward. They removed to Minnesota in 1863, settling in Belvidere township, this county. In 1865, they removed to Forest Mills. Eight years later, on account of failing health, Mr. Ward went to California. He returned in the spring of 1874, taking up his residence in this city, soon afterwards he died. Mrs. Ward, together with her family, continued to reside here until a few years ago, when she returned to her farm. The remains were brought to this city for interment, the funeral being held on Saturday afternoon. The interment took place in Oakwood cemetery. She leaves three children to mourn the loss, Fannie E., aged 25, Mina E., aged 24 and Israel H., aged 20. The oldest daughter, Fannie, is at present in Mexico, engaged in missionary. work.
