At the home of John H. Foley, in Central Point, Samuel H. Ward died 
Monday, March 15 of dropsy; age, 66 years.  Deceased was born in Casenovia, 
Madison County, N.Y., in 1831, and came to Minnesota in 1855, settling at 
Lake City.  From here he went to Red Wing, where he lived until the past 
few months.  He suffered for a long time.  Mr. Ward leaves a wife and two 
children, Mrs. John Foley and Frank Ward.  His remains were interred in 
Lakewood Cemetery at 2 p.m., Rev. John Watson officiating.
