DRETCHKO - Vol II, pg 418 Alvin L. Dretchko is engaged in the general practice of law, being a member of the firm of Hoyt & Dretchko, consisting of himself and Alexander M. Hoyt, with offices at Suite 834, Andrus building, and resides at No. 1115 West Franklin avenue. Mr. Dretchko was born in southern Minnesota, in 1886, his parents being William and Louise (Korth) Dretchko. He received his education in the grammar schools and high schools at Henderson and Winthrop, Minnesota, and the University of Minne­sota. While attending college he took an active and prominent part in athletics, was rooter king, and also was a member of the Varsity baseball team which won the con­ference championship in 1908. He was also elected to the board of athletic control, which office he held until his graduation in 1908. Mr. Dretchko has in addition taken an active interest in municipal athletics and is president of the Minneapolis Amateur Baseball Association, which office he has successfully held for the past three years. He was married in 1914 to Miss Bertha Rinne of Charles City, Iowa. Enlisting for service in the World war, he was sent by the government to various training camps as athletic director for the Young Men's Christian Association. Mr. Dretchko is a member of the Phi Delta Chi fraternity and is a Mason, belonging to Joppa Lodge, No. 300, A. F. & A. M., and the Minneapolis Consistory of the Scottish Rite, and he edits the Scottish Rite Sun, the official organ of the local consistory. He is also an Elk and occupies the chair of the Esteemed Lecturing Knight of that order at the present time.
