He was born at Milford, Illinois, October 7, 1860, and his parents, Andrew J. and Matilda (Scott) Endsley, were natives of Ohio. They became early settlers of Illinois and the father devoted his life to the occupation of farming. Willis Endsley attended the country schools and the University of Illinois and remained on the home farm until he was twenty years of age, assisting his father in its cultivation and development. In 1882 he came to Minneapolis, securing a position as stenographer at the Pillsbury Flour Mills, and for ten years capably discharged his duties in that connection. In 1891 he became bookkeeper and general utility man for the Minneapolis Savings & Loan Association, which had been organized by his brother, P. M. Endsley, who had come to this city about six months before his arrival here. As he proved his worth and ability Willis Endsley was entrusted with greater responsibilities and at his brother's demise in 1917 succeeded him as secretary and treasurer of the company, which offices he has since filled. He is forceful, energetic and determined, quick to see and utilize an opportunity, and has formulated well devised plans for the expansion of the business, which has greatly profited by his intelligently directed efforts and earnest cooperation. Mr. Endsley was married June 17, 1901, to Miss Nellie Grant of Illinois, and they reside in an attractive home at Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota. Mr. Endsley is a member of the Traffic Club, the Automobile Club and the Minnetonka Country Club. In his business career he has been identified with but two firms and he has always endeavored to perform each task assigned him to the best of his ability. He has based his activity in business affairs upon strict integrity and untiring industry and his history proves that success and an honored name may be won simultaneously.
