FRAZER - Vol II, pg 823-824 As secretary and treasurer of the Lyle Culvert & Road Equipment Company of Minneapolis, Jay D. Frazer holds an Important and responsible position. He was born in Lyle, Minnesota, in which town the above-mentioned company made its start, a son of Dr. William A. and Viola (Johnson) Frazer. Dr. Frazer is of Scotch descent. He has been a resident of Minnesota thirty-six years, having practiced in Lyle for thirty years, and is a prominent physician and surgeon, enjoying an extensive and important practice. Mrs. Frazer is descended from one of the first families of Virginia, and traces her ancestry to Sir Francis Drake. Her father was an officer in the Confederate army throughout the Civil war. In the pursuit of his education Jay D. Frazer attended the common schools of his birthplace and subsequently enrolled in Carleton College, from which institution he was graduated with the class of 1910. Soon after his graduation he became associated with the Lyle Culvert & Road Equipment Company and was sent by that company to their branch office in North Dakota. Later he was transferred to the head office in Minneapolis, first as secretary, and in 1912 was also made treasurer, which important positions he now holds. This company is one of the largest enterprises of its kind in the city and state. In 1912 was celebrated the marriage of Mr. Frazer and Miss Hazel Howard. To their union three children have been born: Elizabeth, Jean and Julia May. Mrs. Frazer is a woman of culture and refinement and she maintains an active interest in the club and social affairs of this city. Since attaining his majority Mr. Frazer has given his political allegiance to the republican party and the principles for which it stands. He has never sought nor desired political preferment, but is ever cognizant of the duties and responsibilities as well as the privileges of good citizenship, and to that end is never too busy to lend his cooperation in the furtherance of any movement for the benefit of the community at large. Fraternally he is identified with the Masons and he is an active member of the Rotary Club. His religious faith is that of the Congregational church.
