FULLER - Vol II, pg 253 Since 1918 Harry W. Fuller has been one of the leading business men of Minneapolis. He is vice president in charge of operations of the Northern States Power Company. A native of New York, he was born in New York city on the 14th of June, 1868, a son of Charles W. and Matilda B. (Williams) Fuller. When he was but a child the family of Harry W. Fuller moved to New Jersey and he received his early education in the public schools of that state. Subsequently he enrolled in Rutgers and he was graduated from that institution with the class of 1891. He had specialized in electrical engineering and immediately after leaving college accepted a position with a large concern in Paterson, New Jersey. For a period of seven years he was with the Consolidated Traction Company and the New Jersey Street Railroad Company, now the Public Service Company of New Jersey. Subsequently he accepted the position of manager for the Washington Railway & Electric Company of Washington, D. C., with which firm he remained for a period of eleven years. He then became associated with H. M. Byllesby & Company of Chicago, and was made vice president of the Appalachian Power Company, which concern was engaged in the construction of hydro-electric developments in Virginia and West Virginia. In 1911 he was transferred to the home office in Chicago, remaining there some six years. In February, 1918, he became vice president in charge of operations of the Northern States Power Company and as such has charge of all operations for this enterprise. He has gained an enviable position for himself among the leading engineers of the country and in the line of his work he is identified with the American Institute of Electric Engineers, the American Electric Railway Association, the National Electric Light Association and the Illuminating Engineering Society. On the 16th of October, 1901, Mr. Fuller was united in marriage to Miss Myra Shepard, a daughter of Henry B. Shepard of New York city. Politically Mr. Fuller is a stanch supporter of the republican party. Although the greater part of his time and attention is devoted to his business interests, Mr. Fuller is a member of the Minneapolis, Lafayette, White Bear Yacht, Lincoln, Automobile and University clubs.
