Marion Daniel Shutter, D.D., LL.D.; Volume I - Shutter (Historical); volume II - Biographical; volume III - Biographical EDWIN A. HENDRICKS - Vol II, pg 313 Edwin A. Hendricks, a native son of Minneapolis, is recognized as a ready and resourceful lawyer and in his practice he has displayed a conscientious zeal and energy that have carried him steadily forward. He attended the grammar and high schools of this city and then became a student at the University of Minnesota, from which he won the LL. B. degree in 1911, on the completion of a course in law. In the same year he was admitted to the bar but did not at once enter upon the work of his profession, spending two years in the banking business. In 1913 he began the general practice of law in this city and as he has demonstrated his ability to handle intricate and involved legal problems his clientele has steadily increased, his professional services now being in constant demand. He has always conducted his law business independently and as an attorney he is sound, clear-minded and well trained. He is felicitous and convincing in argument, full of the vigor of conviction and never abusive of an adversary. On the 7th of May, 1918, Mr. Hendricks enlisted for service in the World war and was assigned to the ordnance department. For a time he was stationed at Camp Hancock, Georgia, whence he was transferred to the Raritan Arsenal at New Jersey, and was afterward made ordnance instructor. He was discharged from the service on the 23d of December, 1918. Mr. Hendricks was united in marriage to Miss Louise Dedolph and they have many friends in the city. Mr. Hendricks is of Norwegian descent and possesses considerable ability as a linguist, conversing fluently in Danish, Swedish and Norwegian, as well as in English. He is a member of Ark Lodge, No. 176, F. & A. M. To his chosen life work he gives his undivided attention and in his law practice whatever he does is for the best interests of his clients and for the honor of his profession.
