E. JOHNSON Minneapolis is proud to number among her foremost citizens Chris J. E. Johnson, president and treasurer of Johnson's Pure Milk Company, Incorporated. He was born in Norway in 1886 and came to the United States in 1893. After putting his textbooks aside Chris J. E. Johnson made his initial step into the dairy business with the Franklin Dairy, in whose employ he remained two years. He then became associated with the Modern Milk Company and for five years was proprietor of the Crown Milk Company. During this time he took advantage of every opportunity to become thoroughly familiar with all phases of the business and in February, 1920, he bought the Pure Milk Company, which was at that time a small concern. In the conduct of this enterprise he was successful from the start and has developed the business to four times its original size. He changed the name of the company to Johnson's Pure Milk Company, Incorporated, and he is its president and treasurer. J. M. Clausen is vice president and Hildur C. Linde is secretary. He has twenty-two milk wagons, all operating in Minneapolis and he enjoys an extensive and ever-increasing patronage. He is a firm believer that satisfied patrons are the best advertisement and his aim is to render the best of service and to please in every possible way. His efforts have been rewarded with success and he enjoys the confidence and esteem of all who know him. On the 6th of July, 1906, was celebrated the marriage of Mr. Johnson to Miss Rena Haug, and to their union three children have been born: Clarence, Reola and Warren Mrs. Johnson is a woman of culture and refinement and is prominent socially. Mr. Johnson is a strict adherent of the republican party and the principles for which it stands. Fraternally he is a Mason and as a public-spirited and progressive citizen he is an active member of the Calhoun Commercial Club and the Civic & Commerce Association. Mr. Johnson is in every sense of the word a self-made man and his success may be attributed to his own labors.
