KAYSER Albert J. Kayser has been active in business circles since he was fourteen years of age and is now engaged in the conduct of Kayser & Company, one of the representative enterprises of Minneapolis. Mr. Kayser was born in this city on the 8th of January, 1877, a son of Emanuel and Anna (Rothschild) Kayser, extended mention of whom is made on another page of this work. In the acquirement of his education Albert J. Kayser attended the public schools of this city and later took a commercial course attending night school. At the age of fourteen years he became associated with his father in the conduct of Kayser & Company and there is no phase of the business with which he is not thoroughly familiar. Upon his father's death he and his brother, Howard, assumed entire charge of the concern and they are enjoying continued prosperity and success. Mr. Kayser is a man of untiring energy, is quick of perception, forms his plans readily and is determined in their execution. It is true that he became interested in a business already established, but in controlling and enlarging such an enterprise many a man of even considerable resolute purpose, courage and industry would have failed. He is, however, enjoying substantial and well merited success, watching every detail of his business and conducting it on the highest and most honorable principles. On the 21st of June, 1911, was celebrated the marriage of Mr. Kayser and Miss Carolyn Stern, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stern of Northfield, Minnesota. To their union one daughter has been born, Carolyn, who is ten years of age. In his political views Mr. Kayser is a republican and although he has never sought nor desired political preferment, he is active in party affairs and is conversant on all important questions and issues of the day. Fraternally he is identified with the Masons, holding membership in Hennepin Lodge, No. 4, and he is likewise affiliated with the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. He is an active member of the Minneapolis Civic & Commerce Association and socially is identified with the Minneapolis Athletic Club and the Oakridge Golf Club. Along strictly business lines he holds membership in the Master Painters' Association. Mr. Kayser's hobby is touring and fishing and he is actively interested in all athletic events.
