Charles Kronick was born in Poland on the 20th of March, 1873, received his education in the public schools of the old country, and there learned the cleaning and dying business. In 1890 he came to the United States, having heard that this was the land of opportunity, and he immediately located in Minneapolis. He was active in various capacities until 1893, when he established a business of his own under the name of Charles Kronick. At the end of a year Mr. Gross became his partner and the firm of Gross & Kronick was maintained until 1902, when the partnership was dissolved and Mr. Kronick established his present business, of which he is the president. He has proven himself to be a business man of great executive ability and well merits the success he has achieved. His cleaning and laundry concern has grown to be the largest in the Northwest, having in its employ some two hundred people. Mr. Kronick erected the present quarters at No. 1501 Nicolett avenue six years ago. In Minneapolis, in 1902, was celebrated the marriage of Mr. Kronick and Miss Elizabeth Weiss. To their union four children have been born: Ruth W., Sigmund H., Beverley S. and Monroe A. In his political views Mr. Kronick is a republican and he gives stanch support to that party, having firm belief in its principles as factors in good government. Fraternally he is identified with the Masons, holding membership in Hennepin Lodge, No. 4, and he is a member of Lodge No. 44, of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. Mr. Kronick is essentially public-spirited and as a member of the Minneapolis Civic and Commerce Association he takes an active interest in the furtherance of any movement for the benefit of the community at large. Along strictly business lines he is identified with the National Cleaners & Dyers Association and the National Laundry Association. He likewise holds membership in the Loring Commercial Club, and is a member of B'nai B'rith and Gymal Doled. The best principles of honesty and integrity have governed Mr. Kronick in all of his dealings and he commands the respect and esteem of all with whom he comes into contact. He is sincerely devoted to his family and he and his wife have a large circle of friends. Mr. Kronick's hobby is golf and he is a member of the Oak Ridge Golf Club.
