H. LEISTER (Oscar H. Leister) Since March, 1921, O. H. Leister has been president and treasurer of the Acme Tag Company, one of the representative business enterprises of Minneapolis. A native of Wisconsin, his birth occurred in Milwaukee on the 24th of June, 1875, his parents being Charles and Mary (Heckman) Leister. Both the father and the paternal grand­father, Aaron Leister, were born in Pennsylvania. In the acquirement of his education O. H. Leister attended the public schools of Milwaukee, and after some minor business connections became associated with the Milwaukee Harvester Company, with which he remained for three years. He then became a member of the actuary department of the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, continuing in the service of that corporation for ten years, during which period he took up the study of law. Following his admission to the bar he engaged in law practice in Milwaukee for two years, while subsequently he devoted his attention to the conduct of a drug business in that pity for five years. It was in 1911 that he came to Minneapolis and assumed the official duties of treasurer of the Acme Tag Company, serving in that capacity for five years and taking advantage of every oppor­tunity offered him to become thoroughly familiar with the business. He then purchased the controlling interest and since March, 1921 has been president and treasurer of the corporation. Mr. Leister is a man of good business capacity, acknowledged integrity of character, and also possesses an energy and progressiveness which are prominent attributes of leaders in all lines of endeavor. The Acme Tag Company manufactures paper products, making a specialty of shipping tags, and has developed an enterprise of extensive and profitable proportions, now making shipments to every state in the Union. At St. Paul was celebrated the marriage of Mr. Leister and Adele Saveland, and they have become parents of a daughter, Elizabeth Adele. Mrs. Leister is a woman of much personal charm and she is prominent in the club and social circles of Minneapolis. Since attaining his majority Mr. Leister has given his endorsement to the repub­lican party, having firm belief in its principles as factors in good government. He is essentially public-spirited and his influence is ever on the side of advancement and improvement. His religious faith is that of the Christian Science church, while as a worthy exemplar of the Masonic fraternity he has attained the thirty-second degree of the Scottish Rite, being a member of Minneapolis Consistory; is a Knights Templar; and has crossed the sands of the desert with the Nobles of Zuhrah Temple of the Mystic Shrine. ' His appreciation for the social amenities of life is indicated by his membership in the Minneapolis Athletic and Interlachen clubs and he is likewise identi­fied with the Civic & Commerce Association. He has. won a gratifying amount of prosperity and is recognized as a reliable and substantial citizen whom to know is to honor.
