Marion Daniel Shutter, D.D., LL.D.; Volume I - Shutter (Historical); volume II - Biographical; volume III - Biographical ======================================================== Vol II, pg 195 EVERETT MOON From 1887 until his demise Everett Moon practiced law in Minneapolis and was accorded a place among the leading attorneys of the city. His birth occurred at Fallsington, Pennsylvania, on the 2d ofFebruary, 1861, his parents being James H. and Elizabeth B. (Balderston) Moon, who were also natives of the Keystone state. During his active career James H. Moon was successfully engaged in business as a farmer and a dealer in real estate. Everett Moon, who was the fourth in order of birth in his father's family, obtained his education in a denominational school of the Friends near Philadelphia and subsequently enrolled in the University of Pennsylvania, from which institution he was graduated with the LL. B. degree in 1887. Immediately thereafter he came to Minneapolis and opened an office for the practice of his chosen profession here, enjoying an extensive and representative clientage to the time when death terminated his labors. In 1881-82 Everett Moon took passage in a sailing vessel and visited Australia, China and Japan. Mr. Moon was a member of the Friends church of Philadelphia and following the custom of his people led a quiet life. He was a stanch supporter of the republican party and along professional lines held membership in the Minneapolis Bar Association. Mr. Moon was a man of high intellectual attainments, was a great lover of literature and studied and read famous works in several languages. During the years of residence in Minneapolis he made many friends and his infuence was ever on the side of advancement and improvement.
