NORBLOM (Edward H. Norblom) Minnesota is proud to number among her native sons E. H. Norblom, whose birth occurred March 23, 1880, at Cannon Falls. His parents were John and Matilda (Johnson) Norblom, both natives of Sweden. They came to America when children and resided here until death. In the acquirement of his education E. H. Norblom attended the public schools of Kandiyohi county, and in due time was graduated from the high school of Willmar, Minnesota. Immediately after putting his textbooks aside he entered the business world, and in 1904 was employed by the Landers, Morrison, Christensen Company, which was formed by a consolidation of the J. C. Landers Company, the S. D. Morrison Company and the M. Christensen Company. The first president of the newly formed organization was C. H. Bicknell, and Mr. Norblom has been president since 1917. He began his work with this company in the capacity of bookkeeper. He has held every office in the business and there is no phase of it with which he is not familiar, so that he is well qualified to discharge the many duties devolving upon him as its chief executive. The Landers, Morrison, Christensen Company is one of the representative business interests of this city. The firm deals extensively in builders' supplies and its trade covers the Northwest, although its main market is Minneapolis. Aside from being president of this company, Mr. Norblom is a director of the Builders Exchange and of the Midland National Bank. He is a man of proven ability and the success he has achieved is well merited. On the llth of December, 1915, at Minneapolis, was celebrated the marriage of Mr. Norblom and Miss Eldora Gordon of this city. She is a member of one of the old and honored families of Minneapolis. Since attaining his majority Mr. Norblom has given his political endorsement to the republican party and the principles for which it stands. Fraternally he is a thirty-second degree Mason, having traveled the Scottish Rite route, and he is a member of Ark Lodge, No. 176, F. & A. M., Minneapolis Consistory, and Zuhrah Temple of the Mystic Shrine. He is an active contributor to the Kiwanis Club and he holds membership in the Minneapolis Athletic, Automobile, Odin and Lincoln clubs. A man of genial and pleasing personality, Mr. Norblom has many friends.
