PARKER, D. D. S. A leading member of the dental profession in Minneapolis is Dr. Paul S. Parker, who was born at River Falls, Wisconsin, on the 5th of January, 1889, a son of Marco L. and Mary Jane (Eads) Parker. The Parker family is one of America's oldest and most honored families. Progenitors of the family in this country came here in 1703 and one of the direct ancestors of Dr. Parker served in the patriot army throughout the Revolutionary war. Charles Durham Parker, born in 1827, and his wife, Angeline Southworth, born in 1830, are living in River Falls, Wisconsin. Paul S. Parker came with his parents to Minneapolis in 1895 and after graduating from Central high school enrolled in the University of Minnesota, receiving his D. D. S. degree in the class of 1915. Since that date he has been assistant professor in the Dental College of his Alma Mater. Dr. Parker also took a two-year course in the engineering department of the University. Immediately after graduation he established offices in the Donaldson building for the practice of his chosen profession and in 1919 he moved into the LaSalle building. He enjoys an extensive and important patronage and is one of the foremost dentists in the city. From June 15, 1918, to the 27th of December, 1918, he was in the United States Army Dental Corps and there received a first lieutenant's commission. On the 10th of July, 1918, occurred the marriage of Dr. Parker to Miss Jane B. Cooley, and to their union one daughter, Mary Louise, has been born. Mrs. Parker is a woman of much culture and refinement and is socially prominent. Since attaining his majority Dr. Parker has given his political allegiance to the republican party and the principles for which it stands. Although he has never sought nor desired public preferment, he is actively interested in party councils, and is ever cognizant, of the duties and responsibilities as well as the privileges of good citizenship. Fraternally he is a Mason, having attained the thirtieth degree of the Scottish Rite, and he holds membership in Ark Lodge, No. 176, F. & A. M. During his college days he became affiliated with Delta Sigma Delta fraternity and he is likewise a member of Cable Tow fraternity. Socially he is identified with the Minne­apolis Athletic, the Automobile and Professional Men's clubs, he also holds membership in the Minneapolis District Dental Society. He was secretary of this body for some three years and was its president from the 1st of May, 1922, to the 1st of May, 1923.
