She was born Jan. 24, 1910, in Ely, the daughter of Joseph and Ursula (Marolt) Flake. She attended Ely schools. Caroline married Joseph Deyak on Aug. 4, 1930. Caroline is survived by her sons, Joseph (Gerri) Deyak of Clinton, NC and Robert (Sylvia) Deyak of Albert Lea, MN; Gloria Deyak of NY; grandchildren, David and Janis Deyak of Killeen, TX, Greg and Lisa Deyak of Albert Lea, MN., William of Portland, OR., Gloria and Jim Hehn of FL, Michael and Donna Deyak of NY, Joseph and Mary of VA, and Mark and Cathy of NY; great-grandchildren, Sam, Nathan, Julia, Joseph, Lisa, Katlin, Christina, Jennifer, David and Michael; a brother, Joe Flake, of Ely; and a sister, Mary Orazem, of Ely. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Joe, in 1979. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely, with the Rev. James Scheuer as celebrant. Burial in the Ely Cemetery. Services provided by Kerntz Brothers, a Bauman Family Funeral Home, in Ely.
