From the Houston (MN) Valley Signal, April 7, 1904. Two of the early settlers of Money Creek Station pass away. Mrs. Martha Johnson and Mrs. Tosten Olson. Mrs. Tosten Olson, whose death occurred from heart failure at her home near Money Creek Station last sunday morning, was born in Norway, Sept 8, 1839, where she was married April 7, 1858, and the Same spring emigrated to this country with her husband, coming direct to Houston County. They Resided for one year on the farm now owned by Mrs. Lawrence Weom, Mr. Olson buying, in 1859, the farm which has been their home for nearly one half of a century. Mrs. Olson leaves a husband and seven children, Mrs. Liva Larson of this village, Ole, of Dazey, ND., Chas. T., of Winona, Mrs. Ellen Almquist of Hawley, Minn., Anna, Emma, and Anton, who reside at home, all of whom will be present at the funeral. Mrs. Olson has been an invalid for nearly twenty-five years, a sufferer from rheumatism, but during all those weary years, bore up under that painful disease with fortitude and silence, being ever cheerful and making the home a happy place of abode for both husband and children. The Funeral will take place on Thursday at One O'Clock p.m., at the Stone Church, Rev. Jaastad conducting the services. Interment will be made in the cemetery near the Church.
