All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Newspaper source unknown Isanti County, Minnesota 1942 Mrs. John Norberg Rites Held Thursday Mrs Britta Katrina Norberg, nee Johnson, was born June 22, 1862, at Hjertanstorp, Torp parish, Medelpad, Sweden. On October 28, 1891, she was married to Mr. John G. Norberg. To this union were born seven children. In June, 1893, the Norbergs arrived in America and came to Bodum. Thus Mrs. Norberg has been a resident of this county for forty-nine years. In her early youth, Mrs. Norberg became a Christian and was baptized upon the profession of her faith in the year 1879, becoming a member of the South Isanti Baptist Church in 1894. In Sweden she taught a Sunday school class for a number of years. Mrs. Norberg was a quiet and unassuming person and a good mother and wife. She loved her Lord sincerely and longed to be with him. During the last years, the departed one has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Lindberg, now of Bradford Township, who has tenderly cared for her mother. In the evening of March 3rd, this year, Mrs Norberg fell and injured her body. During the last days of her earthly life other complications set in which led to her departure on Sunday morning, March 29th, at 6:45 after having reached the age of 79 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was the last of her family. She leaves to mourn her departure, the husband, John G. Norberg and the seven children and their families: Helmer and A. Severin of Isanti; (Agnes) Mrs. Clarence Lindberg of Bradford Township; (Hildur) Mrs. George West of Hibbing; (Alice) Mrs. Albert Kunzer of St Francis; Emanuel of Isanti; ( Frede) Mrs. Lawrence Horstman of St. Francis. Also James who had made his home with the Norbergs. There are 29 grandchildren and many friends who will miss our departed friend. The burial services were held Thursday, April 2nd, at 1:30 from the Co-op Funeral Home and 2:00 o'clock from the South Isanti Baptist Church, with Pastor E. G. Nelson officiating. Rev. S. B. Nelson assisted. At the Funeral Home Mr. W. P. Olon sang, "Han skall oppna parle porten". At the church Wilbert Oman sang, "The Beautiful City". Miss Ardis Swenson was at the piano. The pallbearers were Frank Fredeen, Fred Challstrom, Alfred Bergstrom, Theodore Swenson, Levi Lodien, Oscar Okerstrom. Members of the Mission Circle served as honorary pallbearers. The interment took place in the Isanti Cemetery.
