All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ The North Star Cambridge, Isanti, Minnesota May 22, 1952 John Gustaf Norberg Funeral services for John Gustaf Norberg of Isanti were conducted on Saturday, May 17 from the Carlson funeral home and at 2:30 from the South Isanti Baptist church with Rev. Gilbert Forsline officiating. Harold Russell accompanied by Jean Lodien, sang in Swedish, "He the Pearly Gates Will Open" and "Beyond the Sunset." The grandsons were the bearers. They were Warren and Vernon Lindberg, Martin and John Norberg, Gilbert and Richard Horstman. Burial was in the Isanti Union Cemetery. Mr. Norberg was born June 6, 1865 in Stode Westermanns Lan Sweden where he also grew to manhood. On October 28, 1891, he was united in marriage to Britta Katrina Johnson. To this union seven children were born. In June, 1893, they moved to America, making their home in Blomford; he had been a resident of Isanti County for 59 years. He became a member of the South Isanti Baptist church in 1894. During the past few years he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Lindberg of Isanti where he passed away Wednesday evening, May 14, at the age of 86 years, 11 months and eight days. His wife preceded him in death in March, 1942. Surviving him are seven children; Helmer of Duluth, Severin of Spring Lake, (Agnes) Mrs. Clarence Lindberg of Isanti, (Hildur) Mrs. George West of Hibbing, (Alice) Mrs. Albert Kunzer of Hibbing, Emanuel of Rush City, (Freda) Mrs. Laurence Horstman of Minneapolis, 32 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
