(Range Bureau of the News Tribune.) AURORA.April 29.-- Information was received tonight to the effect that Mayor Chas. Olson of this city is unconscious in a hospital in Helena, Mont., and that he had been in that condition at least a day with little indication of improvement. Mayor Olson left here about eight days ago for Montana on business in connection with a mining enterprise. He had in his possession when he left $2,000. The information received today is that he arrived in Helena, Mont. yesterday in an unconscious condition and as no one knew him he was taken in charge by the police and at once conveyed to a hospital. An examination of his papers disclosed his identity and indicated that he was an Odd Fellow. Members of that order at once took him in charge and wired to the Odd Fellows' lodge in Biwabik, of which Mayor Olson is a member. The message related the story of how the mayor had been found, stated that he was still unconscious with no indication of arousing, and further than he had no money. Mrs. Olson stated that her husband took with him when he left Aurora for the west $2,000, but she did not know whether it was in cash or in the form of a draft. It is surmised that crooks in some manner ascertained that he had money and drugged him on the train, afterwards relieving him of his funds and making their escape. Mayor Olson is well known and highly respected all over the range and information of his condition will be awaited with great interest. Duluth News-Tribune Sun May 2, 1909 pg 5 MAYOR OLSON RETURNS (Range Bureau of the News Tribune) AURORA, May 1.-- Mayor Chas. Olson returned yesterday from Montana, where he went on business.
