Rose Northern History Publishing Company, Jackson, Minnesota, 1910 p. 566 ALFRED AMBROSE (1884), a Wisconsin township farmer and stock raiser, is a native of Austria and was born September 5, 1874. His father, Paul Ambrose, died April 5, 1900, his mother is still living and resides with her son. Alfred came to the United States with his parents when only two years of age and until the spring of 1884 resided at Earlham, Madison county, Iowa. On April 9, 1884, the family moved to Jackson county, and upon his father's Wisconsin township farm Alfred worked until he reached his majority. After becoming of age he took the management of the home farm, the west half of the southeast quarter of section 33, which he still farms in addition to his own property, the east half of the southeast quarter of section 4, Petersburg township. Mr. Ambrose owns stock in the Farmers' Cooperative Elevator company, of Alpha. He is a member of the M. W. A. and Z. C. B. J. lodges of Jackson. On September 24, 1901, Mr. Ambose was married to Miss Josie Skalsky. To these parents have been born the following named children: Bennie, born December 7, 1902; Albert, born October, 1904; Agnes, born November 7, 1906; baby, born January 16, 1908.
