Margaret Katie Voit, the daughter of Fred and Tena Nederhoff Paplow, was 

born on June 27, 1909 in Southbrook Twp., Cottonwood Co., MN. She grew up 

on the family farm and attended country school. Margaret was united in 

marriage to Frank Voit on January 7, 1931 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 

in Heron Lake, MN. After their marriage they made their home in Cottonwood 

County near Dundee, MN. After their retirement in 1970 they moved into a 

home in Dundee. She continued living in Dundee after Frank's death in June 

of 1975. Margaret entered the Lakeview Nursing Home in March of 1997 and 

passed away there on July 27, 2005 at the age of 96. She was a member of 

Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake where she was active with the 

ladies aid and was a past member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dundee. 

Margaret enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, sewing and gardening. 



Survivors include her three children, Jim Voit, Marlene Koehn and Janice 

Kass and her husband, Howard all of Dundee, MN; seven grandchildren, eight 

great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one sister-in-law, 

Esther Paplow of Dundee. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 

one son, Francis, one granddaughter, one sister and four brothers. 



Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Heron Lake, 

MN at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 29, 2005 with Fr. Peter Schuster officiating. 

The organist was Bonnie Henkels. The song leader was the Sacred Heart Choir. 

The pallbearers were Brian Kass, Jerry Kass, Dave Kass, Steve Kass, Scott 

Hamman and Eric Hartman. Interment is at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery 

in Heron Lake, MN.
