Mr. Hanson was found at his home last Friday, after a paralytic stroke. Neighbors who became worried when they saw there was no smoke coming from the house, broke open a door and found Mr. Hanson on the floor unconscious. He was taken to the hospital at once. Emil Hanson was born in Solar Norway, on May 31, 1867, and passed away at Kanabec hospital on December 20 at the age of 82 years, six months, and 20 days. Mr. Hanson came to America at the age of 18 and became a resident of Arthur township where he has lived for the past 64 years. It was here that he married Mrs. Tina Hanson, also of Arthur Township. His wife preceded him in death nearly 11 years ago. He is survived by one daughter. Mrs. Eugene Hovland of Knife Lake and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Inga Anderson of Minneapolis. Other survivors include five grandchildren. His remains were laid to rest at Oakwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Arthur Sjoberg, Clarence Sjoberg, Ole Goranson, Henry Bongaarts, Elmer Songberg and Henry Gilbertson.
