Peter Hanson died at his home on the bank of Mud lake at 10 o'clock Monday evening, Jan. 14th. The cause of his death was asthma which has affected him for over twenty-three years and been a continual source of suffering and annoyance which he has born with true manly fortitude. He was born in Sweden Jan. 15th, 1842 and had he lived another day would have been just 59 years of age. He belonged to a family of eight children and is the first to solve the great mystery. His wife, two sons Hans and Peter H. and one daughter Mrs. O.P. Meyer survive him. He has a sister living Kansas, one at Estes Brook, this state and one in Canada brother at Eastwood, Minn., also a brother and two sister in Sweden. He was married in Sweden, March 14th, 1868 to Karin Person, came to America in 1881 and to Kanabec county in 1886. Mr. Hanson was a quiet unassuming man, a kind husband and indulgent parent and a good citizen. he has lived and died respected, and our people mourn his loss. Funeral services will be held at the M.E. church at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
