Resident of County 17 Years. After a lingering illness caused by old age, Halvor Holten passed away at the home of his son, Austin, in the township of Peace last Friday afternoon, May 27, at 6 o'clock. Deceased was born in Sundalen, Norway on Feb. 22, 1846, where he spent his younger days. In 1902 with his wife, he came to America, settling in Iowa, where he remained about 2 years. In 1904 he came to this county and since that time has resided with his son. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, five sons and one daughter. Two sons Engebright and Austin reside in this county; John, in Portland, Oregon; Severt in Alborn, Minn., Martin at Oriska, N.D., and a daughter, Mrs. Robert Richart of Eveleth, Minn. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, May 30, from the Swedish Lutheran church in Mora, Rev. J.A. Frost officiating, and the remains interred in Oakwood cemetery. A large gathering of sorrowing friends followed the remains to their last resting place.
