FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Dan Submitted: 2001 ========================================================================= Obituary Mrs. Martin Downs Willmar Tribune 30 April 1913 Death called at the Martin Downs home at Kandiyohi last Thursday, and claimed the wife and mother, 24 hours after she had been stricken with hemorrhage of the brain. Mrs. Mattie Vadnais Downs, was born at Becker, Minnesota April 15, 1869. She spent her youth at Forest City, Meeker County. In 1893 she was married to Martin Downs. She leaves husband and 10 children: Roy, Joseph, Daniel, Mary, Edw. and Raymond all of whom live at home. The deceased is also mourned by three sisters, Mrs. M. Hannon of Litchfield, Mrs. J. Walsh of Murdock, Mrs. J. Deary of Grand Parks, N.D. and Chester Vadinas of Minot N.D. The funeral occurred on Saturday, April 26 from St. Patrick's Church at Kandiyohi, Rev. Father Cornelius McDevitt officiating. The sorely bereaved family has the deep sympathy of many friends in their affliction.
