Erickson The community of New London was thrown in a gloom of sorrow last Saturday by the sad news of the death of A. J. Erickson, a piooneer and highly respected citizen of the Town of New London, who passed away early that morning after a long and useful life. Andrew Johan Erickson was born June 24, 1837, n Elfsborg's Lan, Vestergotland, Sweden. He married Johanna Hansdotter in 1859 and came to America in 1863. They came to New London as early as 1865 and settled on a homestead 3 miles west of town. His life's helpmate died some years ago and of the ten children born to them but two now remain to grieve the loss of a kind and loving father. They are John E. Erickson and Mrs. Esther Soderlind, both of New London. The funeral took place from the residence last Monday at 1 o'clock, Rev C. Swenson of the Swedish Lutheran Church conducting the same. The neighbors who acted as pall bearers to carry the deceased to his last resting place, in the Lebanon Cemetery, were Peter Norstedt, Albert Norstedt, Nels Johnson, Gust Monson., Victor Olson and Alfred Larson.
