Patchin Succumbs to Long Illness d.1944 Funeral services were held in the Lancaster Baptist Church on Saturday, July 1, for Mr. Clarence Edward Patchin, with Rev. L. R. Turnquist officiating. Clarence Edward Patchin, son of Cyrus and Permelia Patchin, was born June 7, 1878, at Shell Rock, Iowa. On June 5th, 1902 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Beck, and to this union four children were born; Harold Patchin, Donald Patchin, Mrs. Ed. Walters all of Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Ray Doughty of St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Patchin passed away on March 26, 1932. Mr. Patchin remarried on June 17, 1937 to Mrs. Thelma Homan. The deceased was a member of the United Brethern Church of Waterloo, Iowa, and at one time served his church as an ordained minister. Due to failing health he was conmpelled to give up his calling and in 1921 he moved to Lancaster, Minn, where he rsided until recently when the family moved to Humboldt, Minn. Mr. Patchin passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 28, 1944 at the age of 66 years and 21 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Thelma Patchin, his four children, four step-children, William, Leora and Gertrude Patchin and Mrs. Elmer Soderfelt, two half-brothers, Frank and Clayton Metzger; two half-sisters, Effie and Myrtle; 10 grandchildren; one step-grandchild, many other relatives and a host of friends. Music was furnished by Mrs. Algot Erickson, Evelyn and Ellen Johnson.
