Times,Vol.29,No.29- Littlefork, Koochiching county, Minnesota, Thursday, August 9, 1934 - Guardian, Vol.26,No.29. ******* 1,000 head of cattle for local herder. I.J. Lee Now has 1,300 head at camp 102. Another thousand head of cattle were unloaded at Camp 102 on the Galvin line for I.J.Lee Wednesday. Mr. Lee now has about 1,300 head and is the largest herder in the county. Others in various parts of the county have received large shipments the post few days and almost 10,000 cattle have arrived since the government started shipping here. Over 15,000 head of cattle have been contracted for. The cattle are getting along fine and up to the present time little or no damage has been done to growing crops. Breaking lose and roaming of large herds of cattle was considered one of the greatest hazards in the cattle feeding program and if that can be held to a minimum the advantages to come from this new industry will far outweigh the damages. There is sufficient pasture in the county to feed all of the cattle that have been contracted for until some time in October, when they will be shipped out or slaughtered and canned here in temporary canning establishments. ************* Miss Blanche Manery Wed in Montana The following account of the marriage of Blanche Manery is from a Whitefish, Montana newspaper.
