Bush Obit-- from The Littlefork Times, March 21, 1940 The community was shocked and saddened last Friday morning to learn that Mrs. C.M. Bush had passed away at her home in Jameson township on Thursday night. Mrs. Bush had been at the local hospital almost a week but on Thursday, feeling much improved, she was returned to her home. Another heart attack at eight o'clock in the evening resulted in death an hour later. It was her third attack in about three weeks. Mrs. Bush, whose maiden name was Minnie Smith, was born at Meeker, Minnesota, on October 14, 1873, and was 67 years, 5 months of age at the time of her death. She spent her youth at Eagle Bend and became affiliated with the Baptist church at an early age. She was married in 1890 to James B. Johnson, who died January 10, 1916, in Superior, Wis. On June 20, 1921, she married Charles Myron bush at Nett Lake. She had been a resident in the Littlefork community with her husband and family since 1923. The deceased is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Cora Amundson, Superior, Wis., and Mrs. Evelyn Choates, of Bemidji, Minn.; two sons, Leon Johnson, of Littlefork, and Fred Johnson, of Superior, Wis., and two stepsons, Henry and Harry Bush, of Littlefork. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church on Sunday, March 17, and the large gathering of friends and neighbors and the many beautiful flowers showed plainly the high esteem in which Mrs. Bush was held by everyone. Rev. H. Olson preached the funeral sermon. The Baptist Ladies Quartet sang three numbers. The funeral was in charge of James Erickson and interment was made in Oakley cemetery. Pallbearers were K.W. Morris, O.C. Olson, Ole Klefstad, Chas. Choate, Chas Noble and Fred Shannon. Out-of-town attendants at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. L. Amundson and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson, of Superior, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Choates, of Bemidji. Mrs. Bush had a host of close friends, especially in the Cingmars neighborhood, who will miss her, and who extend the deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
