Fischer Submitted: June 2003 ========================================================================= Rhea Francis Cutliff (Cutcliffe) Born: 07 Jun 1904 in Duluth, MN Died: 14 Jan 1905 in Two Harbors, MN Buried: Lakeview Cemetery, Section B, Lot 163, in Two Harbors, MN Note: Died at 7 months old of diphtheria on train between Drummond and Two Harbors, MN Newspaper article: "Obituary: Iron Trade Journal, Two Harbors, MN, Thursday, January 19, 1905 SUCCUMBED ON TRAIN The Little Daughter of Mr. and Mrs., William Cutliffe Passes Away While Enroute For Medical Assistance A sad death occurred on Saturday night when the little seven month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Cutliffe passed away in her mother's arms while they were on their way to Two Harbors. Mr. and Mrs. Cutliffe's home is at Duluth, but are at present living at Drummond where he has a contract of taking out a quantity of timber for the winter. The little child who has been an invalid from sickness since birth was taken seriously ill and on Saturday Mrs. Cutliffe came down to seek medical assistance and when arriving at the Two Harbors Hospital the unfortunate little one was found to be dead. The remains were at once brought to the home of Mr. & Mrs. C. F. Warner on Poplar street, from which place the funeral took place on Monday afternoon. The Rev. J. A. McGaughey of the First Presbyterian church conducting the services. The body was placed in the receiving vault at the Two Harbors cemetery until spring, and will in all likelihood be forwarded to Owatonna, their former home for burial. Mrs. Cutliffe is a daughter of Mrs. C. F. Warner of this village, and have the sympathy of all in their sad bereavement." Note from Submitter: Rhea Cutliff was my mother's sister. William Cutcliffe changed his name to Cutliff when he came to Minnesota from Canada as a young man.
