The bridal procession consisted of the bride, led by the pastor, Miss Mamie Peterson playing the wedding march. After the services, the near friends and relatives gathered at the home of the bride's mother where the evening was delightfully spent over refreshments, music and speeches. Mrs Zeuthen has been brought up among us and is much thought of by all. She will be greatly missed by her many friends who now join in wishing her and her husband a happy career in the city where they will take up their abode. This morning's train carried the happy couple to their home in Minneapolis. The marriage of Hall Benson and Miss Ida Johnson took place Wednesday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs Townsend, of Ash Lake, Rev B B Jonsson officiating. A large number of friends and relatives were present and an excellent time is reported. The contracting parties have a host of friends both here and in Lincoln county who join in wishing them happiness and prosperity." July 30, 1897 "The marriage of Rue Hatlen and Miss Annie Helgeson is announced to take place tomorrow." July 22, 1898 "Last Saturday G J Holm, our popular townsman, was married to Miss Jonina Rose Edwards of Swede Prairie. The ceremony was performed by Rev B B Jonsson at the home of the bride's brother. A few of the near friends and relatives gathered for a sumptuous repast and a very pleasant afternoon was spent. In the evening of the same day, at the home of the bride's father, in Minneota, Gunnar Bjornson, of Lincoln county, and Bertha Josephson were united in holy matrimony by Rev Jonsson. All these parties are well known in this locality and the Mascot joins with their numerous friends in extending hearty congratulations and bespeaks for them a bright future." ========================================================================= Copyright Becky Davidson 2007.
