He was baptized at Amo Lutheran Church in Storden and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran in Westbrook. He grew up south of Storden and attended Storden school and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1970. He excelled in sports in High School, where he was the quarterback in football and also played basketball. Tom was active in 4-H and FFA where he served as president. Following graduation he attended Jackson VoTech for plumbing, graduating in 1977. He married Pam Schmitt in 1976. Two children were born to this union - Gina and Luke. They resided in Tracy and he worked for area plumbers. Tom was united in marriage to Nancy Zens Lamfers. They lived in Tracy for seven years and built their home on Bloody Lake in 1993. He started his own plumbing business in 1999 and named it "Swish's Plumbing and Heating" His three sons worked for him. "Swish" enjoyed animals, gardening, cruising, and friends and family were important to him. Thomas Lee Sundahl passed away suddenly after discovering pancreatic cancer. He died Monday, May 23, 2005, at the Tracy Hospital in Tracy, Minnesota at the age of 53. He is survived by his wife Nancy, Currie; children Gina (Vernon) Leibold, Garrison, MN; Luke Sundahl (Amber Peschges), Currie; Stacy (Jay) Holbrook, St. Bonifacious; Chris (Amy) Lamfers, Currie and B.J. Lamfers, Amiret; eight grandchildren; mother Jeanette Sundahl, Westbrook; sister Sheila Sundahl, Slayton and Brother Brian (Debra) Sundahl, Jackson; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and son Willie Lamfers. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Currie with Msg. Paul Evers officiating. Organist was Betty LeClair. Congregational hymns were "Amazing Grace" and "On Eagles' Wings". Special music "Seasons of the Sun". Honorary casket bearers were Luke Sundahl, Chris Lamfers, Jay Holbrook, B.J. Lamfers and Vernon Leibold. Burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Tracy.
