In his death this section loses an exemplary citizen, the family a devoted husband and father and the church a devout member. The deceased was born in Sullivan County, NY in 1829. When a young man he moved to Wisconsin where he entered the employ of the Milwaukee railroad and for a number of years , in fact until his eye sight failed him, was one of its trusted engineers. Funeral services were conducted from the M.E. church by rev. Sills, Saturday afternoon. The deceased was formerly a member of the Odd Fellows fraternity, and among his last requests was one asking that the members of this grand order be permitted to carry his remains to their final resting place, Sherburn cemetery.
