Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Onamia. Arrangements were with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia. Travis is survived by his mother Pamela Jones-Covington and step-father Jimmy Covington of Onamia; sister Amanda Jones of Saint Paul; step-sister, Amanda Covington of Leonard, Texas; step-brother Charles Covington of Onamia; grandparents, Marion and Kenny Apel of Onamia, Robert and Betty Jones of Onamia; many cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Travis Jones was preceded in death by his father, Brad W. Jones and a cousin Robert E. Apel. Travis Robert Jones was born on March 7, 1985, in Onamia to Bradley W. Jones and Pamela R. (Apel) Jones. Travis graduated in 2003 from Onamia High School where he was on the honor roll. In school he was active in his welding class where he sculpted two large dragons out of metal, one receiving first place at the Minnesota State Fair. Travis along with his cousin, "Mouse" received a trophy for the design and construction of the Mystery Machine they built out of a Volkswagen van from the Scooby-Doo cartoon. Travis worked at Izatys Resort on Mille Lacs Lake for four years. He was hired at NAPA in Onamia to paint and remodel automobiles. He loved his truck and his girlfriend Tara (not necessarily in that order). Travis had recently moved to Brainerd where he had planned to take welding courses at Central Lakes College.
