Joe Boeringa officiating. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Onamia. Judy died Aug. 6, 2004 at the Mille Lacs Nursing Home in Onamia. Judith Anne Jones was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Palmer, Alaska to Vernon and Eleanor Jones. She spent her early childhood years in Alaska before the family moved back to Onamia where she attended and graduated from Onamia High School. In 1955 Judy married Harold Orvis in Onamia. They later moved to the metro area. Judy returned to the Onamia area where she enjoyed working on arts and crafts projects, especially painting, gardening, cooking and caring for cats, and most recently she took care of feeding the fish at the nursing home. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; three infant children; and her father, Vernon Jones, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Eleanor (Wood) Jones of Onamia; sons, Doyle Orvis of Onamia, and Paul Orvis of St. Joseph; daughters, Dawn (Randy) Vivant and Peggy Orvis, both of Onamia; brother, Vernon Jones Jr. of Buffalo; sisters, Peggy (Richard) Benz of Aitkin, and Phyllis (Jim) Flasch of Brooklyn Park; six grandchildren, Josh, Amanda, Alicia, Sarah, Kayla and Cole; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Aubrie. ========================================================================= Copyright Denise Rancour 2006.
