Frank Purdes is survived by a brother Joseph, J. (Patricia) Purdes of Champlin; sisters Mary (Lawrence) Eide of Spring Field, Mo., Helen (Bill) Orvis of Ramsey and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John, Peter, Steve and George Purdes; and an infant brother George Purdes; and a sister Ann Swiderski. Frank Purdes was born Sept. 16, 1920, to the late John and Mary (Prehatney) Purdes. As a young boy his family lived in Minneapolis. Frank's family later moved to Johnsdale and then to South Kathio Township, Mille Lacs County where they farmed. He lived and farmed there until 1986 when ill health forced him to move to Onamia and the surrounding area where he resided until his death. Frank enjoyed hunting and trapping.
