The deceased was a brother-in-law of Mrs. J.F. Bastien of this city." October 31, 1905, Tuesday; Little Falls column - Accident at St. Hillaire – J.F. Bastien returned Monday night from St. Hillaire bringing with him the body of his brother-in-law, Eli Blair, who met his death in a saw mill at that place. It seems that Saturday (October 28th) night Mr. Blair was working at his usual place in the mill, when he was struck in the groin by a piece of timber which flew out of the edger, fatally injuring the unfortunate man. He lived but five hours, although he was conscious most of the time. His relatives here were notified by telegram of his death, and Mr. Bastien left immediately for St. Hilaire to bring the body here for burial. Mr. Blair leaves to mourn his untimely death a wife and five children. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in the French Catholic Church. November 1, 1905, Wednesday; Little Falls column - The funeral of Eli Blair was held Wednesday afternoon from the French Catholic church. Interment being in Calvary cemetery.
