Edwin Strand, his name was John Edwin Strand, the mother of the children 
was Charlotta Amalia Carlsson

KILLED BY LIGHTENING
Three Children of Edwin Strand Struck Dead Yesterday Afternoon.

About 1 o'clock yesterday a storm came from the west, and before the
rain began falling a bolt of lightening descended in the western part of
the city, struck a pine tree, and killed three sons of Edwin Strand who
were sitting under a tree.  The lightning left the tree a few feet above
the roots and struck the children and entered the ground in two places,
making holes in the earth several inches deep.  The names and ages were,
Charles, 10 years and 9 months; John Edward, 7 years and 3 months;
Albert, 3 years and 11 months.   The bodies were somewhat marked at the
place of contact, and their clothing torn and hair scorched by the
