A reception was given at the bride's home in the evening. They will make their home near Herman. Mower County Transcript, 26 Jan, 1898, pg 7, col 3. 1877 Ida Quast 1980 Ida Marie Miller Quast was born March 30, 1877 Wurow, Germany and came to America in March 1892. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She married Cord John Quast January 23, 1898 at Trinity Lutheran Church, east of Austin. Seven children were born to this union. Mrs. Quast died Nov 3, 1980. She is survived by two daughters Mrs. Gladys Haney, Brainerd Minn; and Mrs. Irene Tollerud, Austin ; a daughter in law, Mrs. Irene Quast, St. Paul; and son-in-law Orin Tollerud; 19 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Martha Herzog , Waton, Minn; and a brother Edward Miller, Norway, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughters Helen Meyer, Margaret Wehner, Ida Alvina Hansen; sons Erwin and Elmer Quast; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. November 6, 1980 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Rev. Cal Borgwardt officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery with pallbearers, Kenneth Meyer, Bernard Wehner, Clifford Quast, Frank Haney, Joseph Wehner, John Haney, Mrs. Gloria King was soloist and Mrs. Larry Gilbertson, organist. Mayer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Relatives came from Brainerd, Amirault, Owatonna, St, Paul, Minneapolis, White Bear Lake, Rochester, Oakland, Rose Creek Minnesota, Norway and Newton, Iowa; Hudson, Superior, New Berlin Wis; North Aurora, Ill; and Wichita, Kansas. ========================================================================= Copyright Diane Rollins 2007.
