She was the fourth child, third daughter and youngest of August Karl and Carolina Mundt Sukows children. She immigrated to the United States from Germany and joined her mother, brother and two sisters in settling in Mower County where she lived for the rest of her life. She married Ferdinand Strangman in Nov 1888 in Windom, Minnesota. Ferdinand was the son of Conrad Strangman and Wilhelmina Salge Strangman who were immigrants. He was born on September 25, 1858 in Caledonia, Racine County, Wisconsin. August was a farmer in Dexter Township. Augusta and Ferdinand did not have children. Augusta died on January 1, 1912 at the age of 44. The Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Todten Register gives the following information "Frau Ferdinand Strangman geb. Sukow Geb.D. 11.Mai 1868 in Rosenoro, Pommern, Deutschland, d. Jan. 1, 1912 b. Jan 4, 1912, - Magenkrebs -44 Jahre 7 Monate 20 tags. Ferdinand died on February 8, 1923. Augusta and Ferdinand are buried in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Dexter Township next to Carolina Mundt and Wilhelmina Strangman. Mower County Transcript SUTTON Married on Thanksgiving evening, by Rev. William Haar, Ferdinand Strangman to Miss Augusta Sukow, at the residence of Mr. Stern in Windom, only relatives and a few of the most intimate friends being present.
